M4 Directions and Destinations
Directions refers to countries, or perhaps to a satellite network. The term merely describes the direction in which the call is routed.
Destinations are more concrete concepts of the course of the call. An example that explains these terms better: Let's say we are dialing number 37068547771. According to this number MOR knows that it is Lithuania, but the Destination is the mobile network Bite. Destinations are determined by the Prefix which is unique for each destination. The Prefix in the example is 370685.
Who can configure and use destinations?
- Admin and Manager(with permissions) can create, edit, and delete directions, destinations, and groups and access Direction, Destinations and Destination Groups pages.
Go to MAINTENANCE –> Directions and here you can see all Directions with their details, such as assigned destinations number. You can edit the name of a Direction, but you cannot change the country code. When deleting the direction all the Destinations assigned to that direction will also be deleted. By clicking on the Destinations column View link, you can access the Destinations list for specific Directions.
Go to MAINTENANCE –> Directions –> Groups and here you can see the list of already created Destinations Groups. You can add a new Destination by clicking New Destination Group.
To assign specific rates for Destinations Groups, go to BILLING –> Tariffs, click on Rates and you will see the list of destination groups that can be assigned to specific prices. Here you can find instructions on how to enter rates for retail tariff and wholesale tariff
How to add a destination group manually
To add the Destination Group manually go to MAINTENANCE –> Directions. Scroll down the list of existing destination groups and click New Direction. Enter the name and Direction code. Click Create. A new direction has been created. Now you need to fill it with Destinations. Click on Destinations and then click New destination. Enter the destination's prefix, enter the name and click Create. Now you can find it in Destinations Groups.
NOTE: A destination can belong to only one group at a time.
HINT: If you want to split a Destination Group, remove all Destinations from it, delete the old Destination Group, and create new ones. Then add the removed Destinations to the newly created Destination Group.
