Calls Per Second or CPS refers to how many telephone calls can be handled in a second. CPS is one measure of the performance of Switching systems.
MOR CPS
MOR system supports up to 100 CPS globally per system.
1 Asterisk server can support up to 50 CPS (most of the time it's closer to 20).
CPS can differ based on the system architecture.
CPS can be limited per Device by using Limit up to (number) calls, during (number) seconds setting in the Advanced Device settings.
CPS can be limited per Provider by using Limit up to (number) calls, during (number) seconds setting in the Advanced Provider settings.
HGC related to CPS:
243 Provider skipped because of CPS limitation 244 Device call aborted because of CPS limitation
NOTE: It is important to note that high CPS can bring the server down and no internal limitations will help.
For example, constant 150+ CPS traffic to the MOR is dangerous if MOR does not have a Proxy in the system architecture.
M4 CPS
M4 system supports up to 1000 CPS globally per system.
CPS can differ based on the system architecture.
CPS can be limited per OP/TP by using Limit up to X Calls, during Y seconds setting in the Advanced OP/TP settings.
CPS can be limited per DP/TP pair in the DP-TP assigning window.
HGC related to CPS:
304 Originator's CPS Limit reached 329 Terminator's CPS limit reached 342 Global Incoming System CPS limit reached 345 Terminator reached CPS limit in a Dial Peer
Disconnect Codes related to CPS:
802 Global CPS limit reached 826 OP CPS limit reached 853 TP CPS limit reached 855 TP reached CPS limit in a Dial Peer
